Stocks go green as Deloitte predicts spring rate cut 01-04-23


The TSX bumped 56.43 to 20875.01. TSX Venture moved up 1.11 to 551.18 while the CSE Composite edged higher to 170.32. There was a sense of positivity in the markets after Deloitte Canada predicted BoC would cut rates in the spring and even though H1 will see stagnant growth as a hangover from last years rate increases, H2 will begin an economic recovery.

Industrials, Financial and Information Technology sectors were the strongest performers on the TSX. Numinus Wellness (NUMI.T) popped 20% to $0.15 per share on no news. The company’s research site, Cedar Clinical, was chosen for Beckley Psytech’s cutting-edge Phase 2b clinical trial back in the middle of December and it plans to release its Q1 2024 financial results on January 15. Razor Energy (RZE.V) continued its charge on the venture, climbing 27% to $0.47 per share. Yesterday, the company confirmed restricted access and cessation of processing activities at the Judy Creek Gas Plant related to an ongoing dispute with the facility’s operator. Moss Genomics Inc. (MOSS.C) soared 172.73% to $0.15 per share on no news. The company announced back in May 2023 that it had expected to launch its groundbreaking 90-second urine test and accompanying smartphone app in December.
